Erotic Photography St. Louis
Because Desire Is Sacred Too
Let's be clear about something most photographers won't say out loud: erotic photography and pornography are not the same thing. The distinction matters — legally, artistically, and personally. And at mIsFiTs Like ME, we hold that line with intention.
Erotic art photography is the visual exploration of desire, sensuality, and intimacy through an artistic lens. It is not explicit content produced for mass consumption. It is not gratuitous. It is not objectifying. When done with craft and care, it is among the most vulnerable, powerful, and humanizing forms of photography that exists.
This is the work we do.
What erotic photography at mIsFiTs includes:
Erotic sessions are built around your specific vision — developed collaboratively in a pre-session consultation where we establish boundaries, discuss intent, and make sure everyone is on the same page before a single frame is shot. These sessions are deeply personal. They can be intimate self-portraits, couples work, implied content, or more explicit erotic art — all within the legal framework of 18 U.S. Code §2257, with which we rigorously comply.
The context determines the category. An image in a gallery is erotic art. The same image kept privately is erotica. The same image on a monetized platform is something else entirely. We help you understand the difference — and create work that belongs in the first two categories.
Your images are yours. We don't publish, share, or use anything from your session without a separately signed image release. Many clients keep their erotic photography completely private. That is a completely valid and fully supported choice.
Matthew D. Kauffmann is a Certified Professional Photographer with nearly 25 years of experience, published nationally, and committed to treating this work — and the people who trust him with it — with the seriousness it deserves.
"Through the lens of an erotic photographer, desire becomes
a work of art."
"The energy in the studio was electric. Matthew knows exactly how to direct you without making it feel staged. He captured the raw, unedited version of my sensuality that I didn't think could be caught on camera. If you want to feel like a goddess, book the session."

FAQ SECTION
What's the difference between erotic photography and pornography? Context and intention. The same image displayed in an art gallery is erotic art — the audience is invited to contemplate aesthetics, emotion, and story. Viewed privately for personal pleasure, it becomes erotica — intimate, personal, a celebration of self or a relationship. Published on a platform for monetized sexual gratification, it becomes pornography. At mIsFiTs Like ME, we create work that belongs in the first two categories. Always.
What does an erotic photography session actually involve? That depends entirely on what you want and what we establish together in the boundary-setting consultation. Erotic sessions can range from sensual implied content to more explicit work — all within the legal framework of 18 U.S. Code §2257. The session is built around your specific vision, your comfort level, and what Sacred Authenticity looks like for you.
Is a consultation required before an erotic session? Yes — a complimentary boundary-setting video consultation is required before every erotic session. All participants who will be present must attend. This is how we make sure everyone is on the same page before a single frame is captured.
Can I keep my images completely private? Yes. Many erotic photography clients keep their work entirely private — never published, never shared, never seen by anyone but themselves. That choice is protected by the same policy that covers every session here: nothing leaves the studio without a separately signed image release.
Are erotic sessions 18 U.S. Code §2257 compliant? Yes, without exception. Government-issued ID is required for all participants. Records are maintained for a minimum of seven years. This is non-negotiable and protects everyone involved
